Music Notes – The Anthem and Offertory are pieces of early American church music.
Johann Friedrich Peter (1746 – 1813) and David Moritz Michael (1751 – 1827) composed these anthems for the Moravian Church in America.
Our festival service will feature music for brass, choir, and organ and include Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" and the famous organ "Toccata" by Widor arranged by David Lornson for brass, choir, and cymbals. You won't want to miss this service! Please support our Easter service in two ways: 1) Invite your neighbors and friends to our 10:00 am service on Easter morning, March 23rd, and 2) help underwrite the cost of our brass quartet with your check to First Congregational Church indicating "Easter Brass." Thanks for your help and support
Sunday Afternoon Discussion Group - We will meet today at 4:00 pm in the Brown Parlor. This month’s book is People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. This novel was inspired by a true story that traces the journey of a rare illuminated manuscript. You are invited and welcome to join this informal discussion led by Glennis Lundberg.
Saving the Earth - Many of us at FCCE want to be good stewards of God’s beloved creation, our earth. One way to maintain our garden earth is to support sustainable agriculture, farming which preserves the planet by good environmental techniques and by generating profits to people in developing countries who need the basics of life.
Buying FAIR TRADE products like coffee and environmental cleaners is a good first step. Here are two websites/ product names which you can access. If these items are not available in your local stores, ask them about it!
